College and University Emergency Exercises

UniversityDisaster2 CSERT Safety continues to work with two Northeast Institutions of Higher Education to test and train the emergency management team members and security personnel on the emergency plan, the Incident Command System and interfacing with local response agencies. Ten separate exercises have been conduct in the past two years and have tested response and recovery capabilities to fires, intruders and disruption to campus services.

Working with Delaware County Emergency Management and the District Attorney’s Safe School Initiative, tabletop and larger scale exercises have been conducted on 12 separate occasions in the past three years. CSERT Safety created and conducted table top and 3 larger-scale training exercises. The tabletop exercises have tested various portions of the emergency program and have progressed to become annual to semi-annual events. The exercises worked on a progressive scale, initially starting as discussion session. The exercises now include local agencies and more complex scenarios.
